Low APR Credit Cards

In finding the right credit card it is necessary to consider everything. That’s right, everything! Be sure to check out the card’s rewards, insurance plans, security, grace periods, introductory rates, and fees. Also, do not forget the card’s APR. The APR may be the most important factor in determining if a particular card is the one for you. The APR, or annual percentage rate, is the amount of interest that you, the cardholder, will be paying on purchases with your pretty piece of plastic.

Many credit card issuers offer low APR credit cards. FIA Card Services, CitiBank, Discover, IberiaBank, Pulaski Bank, and others offer many cards with a low APR and great benefits.

The Bank of America Rewards American Express Card issued by FIA Card Services, N.A. is a great low APR credit card that features flexibility and several rewards. For the first 12 months, cardholders can enjoy 0% APR on balance transfers and cash advance checks. After the introductory period has passed, the APR is 9.9%. This card not only offers cardholders the flexibility to pay over time, but it also requires no annual fee. The Bank of America Rewards American Express Card also offers great reward benefits for shopping, dining, hotels, travel, and more.

The Citi Platinum Select Card is another low APR credit card. This card allows cardholders to have security, discounts, and other features. The Citi Platinum Select Card offers 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the 12 month introductory period. After the introductory period, cardholders can receive a variable APR that can be as low as 9.49%. More importantly, the cardholders APR can be 9.49%, 12.49%, or 14.49% after the introductory period depending upon the cardholder’s application and credit history. The rate can vary from month to month depending upon the Prime Rate. The security features that come along with this card include retail protection services, travel accident services, travel and emergency services, and zero liability on unauthorized purchases. The Citi Platinum Select Card will also allow the cardholder to have their picture and signature on the front of the card for added protection. Cardholders can receive discounts on rental car booking with Hertz.

The IberiaBank Master Card offers variable rates as low as 7.25% percent! For purchases, the variable rate can be 6.75%, 7.75%, or 8.75% depending on the cardholder’s creditworthiness. Also, there are no annual membership fees. Cardholders can enjoy 0% APR for the first six billing cycles and online access to credit card information. There is a 25 day grace period for the repayment of balances on cardholder purchases. With the IberiaBank MasterCard it is important for the cardholders to understand that they must make at least the minimum payment for all preceding periods. If they fail to do so, the APR will increase to 22% until the account is paid to meet current status.

The Pulaski Bank MasterCard, available also by Visa, allows cardholders to enjoy a solid credit card that offers great rates that are fixed. There is a $35 annual fee that the cardholder must pay, however, cardholders can benefit from the 0% APR offered on all balance transfers during the introductory period.

Pulaski Bank also offers the Pulaski Bank Visa Gold credit card. This card requires no annual fee and 0% introductory rate for the first six billing cycles on balance transfers. At a reasonably low fixed- rate of 9.5% APR, the Pulaski Bank Visa Gold may be the simple cad for you.

So the next time you are hunting for that new credit card, be sure to remember that there are several cards available that have a low APR. Remember that it is important to consider all aspects of each card before making a final decision.
