Pro:I had a credit score of 512 CK. I got approved for $500 and it has gone up to $1500 after one year. My credit score is now 630. Make sure you keep ure balance under 30% usage. i.e. my limit is $1500 so i keep my balance under $450. That is what's building my credit.

Con:Always pay on time b/c the fee is $40 and intrest kicks in after your first year.

I was a authorized buyer on this card and this card actually brought my credit score up. I have now been approved for the quick silver with a 3,000 dollar  limit.  Thanks Capital one

I applied for & got the card in March. I said for years that I would NEVER have a secured card. Well you know what they say....never say never. Again...15 years ago I was that person that had so many cards I had a separate wallet for them. I seriously wrecked my credit over the years. It took over 10 years for all of my mistakes to fall off my credit report. I had a score in the low 500s when I got this card. One of the reasons I decided to go with this one is the free credit tracker you get with it. I have made several small purchases. Nothing over $50. Since getting the card in March I have made 2 payments. As of this morning my credit score on their credit tracker has jumped 40 points. On Credit Karma it has gone up 30. Let me say.....there was a point when I went so long without credit that when I attempted to get a card or financing for ANYTHING I wouldn't even generate a credit score. So far I am truly happy with this card. I will continue to update as I use this.

Got a charge off and judgement from Capital One 10 years ago. I paid it off and have been steadily working to repair my credit. After today, Capital One has decided to give me another chance with a 608. $300 limit, I am gonna be smart with it  this time.

I am embarrassed to say that last August my credit score was well below 500. In September I obtained a Cap One secured card and was increased by $200 in February due to keeping my purchases low, paid on time and paid off. My credit score has gone up to 555 and last night I was approved for a $500 limit with this unsecured card AND a $500 Quicksilver (wish I would've tried the Quicksilver first). I figured I might as well take 2 hard inquiries for a few points and let them fall off at the same time.  I am very pleased with the progress I am making  thanks to Capital One giving me a 2nd chance. I don't need this cards, unfortunately, it seems the more credit you have, the easier it is to increase your score.

I got a Capital One credit card about 15 years ago with a 10% and a $6 dollar monthly fee to keep the interest rate low, but the interest rate was gradually increased it to a whopping 23% without being late a single month. Do not use this greedy company!! They are a rip-off!!
