Pro:I had a credit score of 512 CK. I got approved for $500 and it has gone up to $1500 after one year. My credit score is now 630. Make sure you keep ure balance under 30% usage. i.e. my limit is $1500 so i keep my balance under $450. That is what's building my credit.

Con:Always pay on time b/c the fee is $40 and intrest kicks in after your first year.

Ive had a score in the range of 500-600 for years. I havent had a credit card in about 10 years. I took a chance at applying for this card online with a 590 score and was approved right away for 300 limit. I cant complain about the fee or interest rate as Im just using this to up my score with an open card but I am so glad capitol one took a chance and gave me a card! Thank you.

Was just denied today with "very good" odds, TU 586, EQ 586, an existing cap 1 secured and Qucksilver that just recieved $1000 cli.  rack up 1000 a month pay off balances credit utilization 11%.  Still love cap 1, don't trust the odds, will keep rebuilding credit, probably try to increase credit capacity by adding money to secured card and other things that are suggested to improve credit.  I had zero credit inquiries so not too worried about ding,

I got a pre-approval letter in the mail. I was a little hesistant to apply, because I didn't want another inquiry on my credit if denied. It said 9 out of 10 pre-approved applicants were successfully approved. I went ahead and did the application. To my suprise, I was approved. (I am usually the one who waits just to get the denial screen.) After that I just clicked out of the screen (was not sure if the application had been processed, but it had been). This was on Friday, May 1st. On Saturday, May 2nd, I got an email saying "Congratulations. You've been approved". On May, 8th they sent an email saying the card had been shipped out. I then received it on May 12th. They don't tell you your credit limit until you've gotten your card in the mail. Mine was $300. Also, I had a Credit Karma score of 606 (Transunion) and 610 (Equifax). After the inquiry, they both went down by a point, so not too bad. I like the card so far mainly because of the online banking and the mobile app. Also, after the first 5 months of on-time payments, I am eligible for an increase on the credit limit.

Capital one approved me when no decent credit card company would. I had a credit score of 511, 4 bad remarks on my credit report, and 8 delinquent payments on a school loan (all from 3-5 years ago). I decided to start rebuilding my credit after being forced to resort to a very high interest car loan. Credit Karma suggested I apply for this credit card, and I did. I honestly felt anything BUT optimistic when applying, I was almost positive I would be denied even though credit karma gave me approval odds of "very good." Applying was quick, and I was approved instantly for $300. Minimal credit line, but I was just happy I was approved. This was my first credit card, and I didn't know credit card could be so easy to use. Their mobile app and website are MORE user friendly and I would even say more accurate than my Bank of America app & website!

I like that there is NO limit / penalties on how many payments you can make per month. I use this card as a debit card mostly, and make weekly payments. I do so using the trusty mobile app. I usually spend about $1,000 a month using this card - I make payments when a good amount of transactions post. THIS IS KEY if you want a hefty credit line increase later (even one larger than promised in their credit steps probgram - explained below). They evaluate your use, the average amount per payment, and how many payments you make. The more you spend, the larger your payment, the larger the increase.

I was made aware shortly after applying (via email) that I was automatically enrolled for their "credit steps" program, which gives you an automated credit limit increase by your 6th billing statement so long as you make the first 5 monthly payments on time. The email stated my $300 would be upgraded to a $500 credit limit with the program. I was a total moron on the 3rd month, and completely forgot to pay until AFTER hours on my due date. I was so upset considering I had been looking forward to the automated credit limit increase... BUT not to worry! I received an email shortly thereafter notifying me that "they noticed I made a late payment, and that mistakes happen. I would still be eligible for my automated credit limit increase as long as my next 3 payments would be applied on time." I was ecstatic and so grateful. I should add that I wasn't even charged a late fee.

I am a couple of weeks away from my automated credit increase, but I had been reading about a feature on their website where you could request a credit line increase yourself. I decided to jump the gun and go for it, considering it said it wouldn't affect my credit, I had a sudden large expense, and I would have the option of declining the increase before any final changes would be made. All it asked for when applying was annual income (required), monthly rent/mortgage payment (required) and monthly credit card spenditures (which is optional - I left that blank). 15 seconds later, I was approved for not $500 as promised, but $800! I accepted the increase, which was READILY AVAILABLE upon accepting. No joke. I was thrilled. NO fuss, no huge agreement, no waiting for contracts in the mail. Simple, and practical.

I cannot be happier with Capital One. 0% interest for the first year, and $19 per year after that. Payments are applied the same day, and the credit is available the following day as long as you make a payment before 8:00pm EST. I have literally no complaints. The only times I have contacted customer service have been for questions regarding my late payemnt and posting cutoff time. Very polite, very professional, and overall excellent. From other reviews, I've read I still may receive an even larger credit limit increase on my next billing statement due to the credit step program, but we will see. Either way I'm happy! If you're on the fence and have at least a 'fair' odds with this card on Credit Karma; just apply. They're totally worth the credit inquiry!

I was a authorized buyer on this card and this card actually brought my credit score up. I have now been approved for the quick silver with a 3,000 dollar  limit.  Thanks Capital one
