Pro:I had a credit score of 512 CK. I got approved for $500 and it has gone up to $1500 after one year. My credit score is now 630. Make sure you keep ure balance under 30% usage. i.e. my limit is $1500 so i keep my balance under $450. That is what's building my credit.

Con:Always pay on time b/c the fee is $40 and intrest kicks in after your first year.

I've had this card since January. Credit score was in low 600's was approved for $1250 to start. Completed credit steps successfully in June. In July they upped my limit to $3500!!!!  Now here in the beginning of September I was wondering if I would be able to upgrade to Quicksilver (ideal) or Quicksilver One (realistic as credit score still under 700 sitting at 663) Initiated contact through Facebook and made "appointment" for them to call me today. They called at 4:30...by 4:33 I was upgraged to Quicksilver Platinum with NO ANNUAL FEE!!! So stinking happy with Captial One. Customer service rep was polite and spoke english...just thought I'd throw that in there too.

I decided to apply for this card on a whim even though CK says I had poor odds. Applied with a 578 CK score and was instantly approved for a $300 limit. Applied Saturday, got an email my card was in the mail Monday and received it yesterday (Thursday)  I didnt see anything about a credit steps program though. I will keep yall posted.

I am in the rebuilding process after going crazy in college (just graduated and got my first job a week after graduation) so I am thankful Capital One took a chance on me.

I was approved for the card the end of May 2014 I use 71% utilization with a $300.00 CL But I pay it off in full a week or more head of the due date is that Good or Bad or should I pay more then the Maximin then pay the difference off next month because I want my credit limit to Increase or do I have to wait the full six months for and increase...I am new to using credit cards I always paid cash for everything..but having a credit card is so helpful at times..

My credit score was not "great". It is reported at 620. I used the First Premier and Credit One bank cards (with a $300 credit limit) for a year. I did not miss any payments but i was utilizing about 80% of my credit limit. I decided I needed additional accounts to show good payment history. I applied for Capital One and was given a $2000 credit limit with one year of 0% APR (which increases to 18% after a year). As long as payments are made ontime, and you do not go over your credit limit, there are no issues. I have never had an issue with ANY Credit Card when I make my payments ontime.
