According to Credit Karma I have fair credit, however for this card it states you have to have excellent credit. Needless to say, I joined credit Karma yesterday 11/20/13 and obtained my credit score (672), reviewed my credit card recommendations (Chase freedom TOP RANK, CapOne Quicksilver 1ST RUNNER UP, and I can't remember the last one). I went with CapOne because I liked their 1.5% over Chase's 1% with rotating categories that I may never utilize. Needless to say, I was approved with FAIR credit for $5000.00 with 20.9% APR, which is high....however, I plan on using my card like I would my debit card to pay bills I know I have the money for and then turning around and paying it off at the due date to avoid paying interest and to improve my credit and get better offers. Will keep you all posted on customer service, cash reward redemption, etc. once I receive and have a chance to use my card!!! Thanks Capital One and thank you credit Karma!

Approval Odds were good, so applied and Got this card at $1000 CL... few months later it went up to $4000 automatically... a few months have passed and i found out i could request a credit limit increase myself. I just did it and instantly increased to $7000...

I got this card months after getting the secured card... I requested CLI on this too but wasnt instantly given an increase...

By the way my score is 647... It isnt that good but ive been staying below the 30% and its been really helping my score...

Hope this helps...

I've gone from captial one's platinum card to the quicksilver card in about 3 years time.  Capital One has made it possible for me to rebuild my credit.  I admit their interest rates might seem to be a bit high but I no longer have an interest rate.  My rate is 0% on all purchases and has been this way for the past 7 years.  How is this possible?  I pay the entire balance at the end of every month.

Everytime I've had problems with my card, Capital One has been there for me, working with me to solve these problems.  Several months ago, they notified me via text that someone had tried to make a purchase in another state using my credit card.  They were instantly declined.  The next day, Capital One's Fraud Dept notified me that this same person tried 2 more times to make purchases on my card and they too were declined.  Capital One has caught several people trying to use my card and each time, they not only notified me of this but they immediately issued me a new card.  I can always count on receiving their 1.5% on all purchases and found they show these rewards almost immediately unlike some credit card companies that may show the rewards in one or more months.

So I applied for this card and I have excellent credit. Never had anything derogatory on my credit and I'm in my 30's. I have 2 other credit cards with lower rates than this card but was interested in the cash back. I applied and got approved for a 17.9% rate which is rediculous for excellent credit. Called them up and asked what caused them to give me the lower rate with my excellent credit. They lady at first told me I had the best rate at 0% like she didn't understand how APRs worked. I explained to her that I meant the continuing rate and then she kept putting me on hold to check, over and over. At first telling me that she didn't have a lower rate to offer me even though I know this card has a 12.9% best rate. She keeps checking trying to find out what caused my rate to go up. Eventually (about 30 minutes on hold) she gets back to me and tells me my debt to income ratio is too high. I told her I didn't include the additional income I earn, only my salary. She tells me they can redo my application with my new income and to check back in 3 days. So the card came in the mail today so I called back. Did they finish processing my application again I asked? The lady doesn't know what I'm talking about. I explained to her what had happened and she proceeds to tell me that I have the best rate already at 0%, same as the first lady like they're trained to say that. I ask her to check on the status of the resubmitted application. Once again on hold over and over. She comes back telling me they don't have a lower rate to offer me and that the debt to income ratio has nothing to do with my rate, only my credit score. That they were not processing my application over. WTF! Then what did the other lady do besides waste my time? So I told her that I have perfect credit and asked why don't I have the best rate? She spouted out some nonscence about the zero % intro and at this point I'm a little upset and I tell her that I'd just like to cancel my brand new card. She asked for clarification of why. If it was because of the continuing rate, she asked? And she reminded me of the 0% into rate once again. I told her it WAS about the contining rate but NOW it was about the fact that if a credit card company can't tell if someone has excellent credit, or just doesn't care and wants to screw them over with a higher APR then they should get, then I don't need to be doing business with them. Long story short, they'll screw you over with a higher APR than you deserve and if you call to ask why or complain, they'll act like you have the best rate already and put you on hold over and over until you give up and accept getting screwed over. Steer clear of this one!

I got this card a few months ago and I like it a lot. I have a Chase Freedom that i was using for pretty much everyhting but i thought to apply for this card as it offered more cash back for every purchase unlike the Freedom. Now I use this card for everything (except whatever the roatating category is witht the Freedom) Got the $100 bucks after spending $500. Got it added to my account within 24 hours of reaching $500. Never had another credit card company do it that fast. As far as Customer Service goes I've only ever used their online chat and never had to call in. But I can say that there service is awesome and always left the website with the answers i was looking for.
