According to Credit Karma I have fair credit, however for this card it states you have to have excellent credit. Needless to say, I joined credit Karma yesterday 11/20/13 and obtained my credit score (672), reviewed my credit card recommendations (Chase freedom TOP RANK, CapOne Quicksilver 1ST RUNNER UP, and I can't remember the last one). I went with CapOne because I liked their 1.5% over Chase's 1% with rotating categories that I may never utilize. Needless to say, I was approved with FAIR credit for $5000.00 with 20.9% APR, which is high....however, I plan on using my card like I would my debit card to pay bills I know I have the money for and then turning around and paying it off at the due date to avoid paying interest and to improve my credit and get better offers. Will keep you all posted on customer service, cash reward redemption, etc. once I receive and have a chance to use my card!!! Thanks Capital One and thank you credit Karma!

Credit Karma said I had low approval odds for this card and suggested the mastcard version of the same card which also has an anual fee. I applied for this card and was approved for a $3000 limit with 17% interest rate. It is a high interest rate but I use my credit card just like a debit card and pay it of in full. I plan to switch to this card so I also get the 1.5% back on all purchases.

Just got the e-mail confirming the prior approval of a $10K CL for this card last week.  The APR is 17.9%, still high, but definitely lower than the 22.9% I got stuck with on their Quicksilver MC (my CL increased from $2K to $7K last week as well for this card).  The new card at 17.9% is my new "go to" card (0% APR until Jan. 2016).  I'm going to use the higher APR card for my Netflix account and my BCBSM monthly payment (comes to $100 month--which will be paid in full each month to keep a zero balance) and use the lower APR for my monthly grocery expense ($300) and pay that in full each month to keep the zero balance.

Given that I started this new adventure to re-establish my credit back in Novermber 2014, in 6 months I went from  $2K to  $17K CL.  I'm done getting applying for anything else until May 2016.  By that time, I should be established enough to apply for a card with a high credit line AND lower APR--hopefully in the 10.99%-12.99%.  I'll dump the Capital One 22.9% APR card, keep the 17.9% (but hopefully negotiate a lower APR from Capital One on that card), and be pretty well set.  I know some people carry 3+ credit cards but that ain't me.  Having 2 cards with $20K CL (by this time next year) is more that enough for me.

I've been with Capital One for over 5 years and was recently upgraded to their Quicksilver Rewards Card.  I love Capital One.  Their fraud department is the best of the best.  They've caught many people trying to use my card fraudulently and have always been there for me.  I have zero problems with Capital One and highly recommend them.  I have no annual fee and my interest rate is 0%.  What?  0%?  Yes, I have 0% interest fees because I pay off the entire balance before the end of each month.  Their 1.5% cashback rewards are always there and you can cash out the rewards at any amount.

I applied for this card based on CK's recommendation back in November 2014.  They gave me a $2000 CL.  Just a few minutes ago I went on line and saw that I now have a $7000 CL!!!  And that was given to me 2 months early (I was told that a decision would be made in May 2015 and I would see whatever increase  in my CL by June or July 2015).  Now I'm wondering if it will increase again in July....anyway my 0% interest rate expires in October 2015.  I'm going to call and see if I can "upgrade" this card to the next level where I don't have to pay the annual $35 fee, and hopefully get and even lower interest rate (I won't know what that will be until October 2015).

All I can say is that it works....made my payments on time., my highest balance was $962 in January 2015 (unexpected expense) but as of May 2, 2015 I have a $100 balance.  Next month I'll pay that off, and then start using the card for my monthly groceries expense and pay that off every month so I'll carry a zero balance each month!!

It works folks!  Just make beyond the minimum payments, pay on time, and good things will happen

Hallelujah!   CK TU score: 698  CK Experian score: 704  Fico score: 709
