I applied back in March and was denied due to not having another CC with a similar credit limit of the $5000 minimum on the Sapphire Preferred. Back then my FICOs were EQ704 and TU709. After 6 months of working on my credit and getting new cards with larger limits, and getting increases on current cards, I applied last week and was approved!! I was approved with FICOs of EX715, EQ729. My AAoA is 3+ years, utilization of 1%, and my other CLs were $4250, $4000 and 2 $1250. They instantly approved me for $5000! Called the regular customer service number and had them overnight it to me for Friday because I wanted to book a trip. It didn't end up arriving. Ended up calling the Sapphire specific line and had them overnight it to me for Monday. I did receive it Monday but not at my business address as I had requested. O well, atleast it wasn't stolen out of my mail box(I live on a busy street)

So far I love it. It's a beautiful card, and has some heft to it. I've already received many compliments on it. The 40,000 bonus points(after spending $3k) surely doesn't hurt as I have already almost reached $2k spending on it.

Booking flights through Ultimate Rewards mall isn't cheaper in my experience. It does give you 3 points/dollar. But you can book through another travel website via a link on the site, and it will give you 4points/dollar, and its cheaper.

This card gives you 2 points/dollar when spent on travel(including taxis and tolls), 7% dividend on points earned in the year, no forex fees. Also if you have the Chase Trifecta(a chase checking account and the Freedom cards) the rewards really start adding up!

I applied on line and was instantly approved.

Chase is the only issuer I know of that lets you take credit line from one Chase account, and add it to another.  I had been using a Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa, and since this card fits my needs better, and has even better rewards, I closed that.  I was able to take the credit line from that and add it to my new Sapphire Preferred account, with just a phone call.  This allowed me to close the old account without lowering my overall available credit.

Also, the day after I applied, I called and they were able to overnight my new card to me, which was extremely helpful.

I'd been using the SW Rapid Rewards Card from Chase, and had been impressed with the customer service with that card.  However, this one is even more impressive.  Live person answers anytime you call, and they are always knowledgeable and helpful.

The customer service is excellent! Their automated phone menu is very efficient. Customer service representatives are very friendly. When being transferred to another department on the phone, the original representative stays on the line, on hold with you if necessary, then introduces you to the next department rep, WOW!

So, I open this account with a CL of $18k ... With a goal of racking up significant rewards and an annual 7% refund. After less than a year ... They stop the 7% refund. But, there is still an annual fee. Bait and switch by Chase. Go with Cap 1.

I have never owned a credit card and being 31 I decided to jump in and see what I could get.  I had fair approval odds of getting it, I was approved for the minimum 5k with a 40k points bonus if 3k used in for 3 months promo.

Before this card I applied for my first real credit card besides the quicksilverone card which has worked pretty well.   The card was the amex blue everyday card and I had poor approval odds but I ended up getting approved for 2k.

My CK score has been jumping around a bit fom 760 to 690, which is where im at right now with it.  My trans score is currently 760 which has been jumping up and down from the credit approvals.  Fico was 686 when I Received my amex card.

I recently applied for and was approved for the Sapphire Preferred Card making this my 7th credit card in under 2 years (1 older Wells Fargo Card from College at 5 years). I do love the look and feel of this card and will take advantage of the $400 sign up bonus. I will probably cancel after 1 year since I had the normal sapphire as well. To be honest, I like the feel of the card, but the perks are not worth the fee over the non-prefferred version IMO since I don't travel to take advantage of no foreign fee. I will say I love Chase as I have never had an issue with my Freedom, Sapphire or Sapphire Prefferred and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice sign up bonus.
