With $0 annual fee and unlimited 3% cash back on dining and entertainment, the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card is an excellent choice for consumers who enjoy a frequent night on the town. The wide category of eligible expenses ranges from fine dining and concert tickets to fast-food chains and bowling alleys.

The Basics

The Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card offers tiered rewards:

  • 3% - Earn unlimited 3% cash back on dining and entertainment
  • 2% - Earn 2% at grocery stores
  • 1% - Earn 1% on all other purchases
Entertainment expenses include a wide variety of activities, but “non-industry entertainment” sources like cable TV and streaming services are excluded. The 2% grocery rewards category excludes superstores like Walmart and Target. Eligible rewards are unlimited and have no expiration date unless the account is closed.

A 15-month 0% APR introductory period applies to both purchases and balance transfers. Post-introductory APR is 16.24% - 26.24% based on creditworthiness. There’s no penalty APR for late payments, although late payment fees may be as high as $38.

Balance transfer fees are a typical 3% on balances transferred during the first 15 months. There are no annual fees or foreign transaction fees.

The Capital One Mobile app includes a card lock security feature to instantly turn your card off and on, as well as a SureSwipe/Touch ID function for fingerprint or other customized unlocking method for added security. Account alerts and 24/7 access to transactions help with money management. Other perks include 0% fraud liability, 24/7 travel assistance, autopay options to help manage your account, and extended warranties for eligible purchases, and a price protection program that refunds the difference when a lower advertised price is found within 120 days of purchase.

Cons

Focused Dining/Entertainment Rewards – Outside of its 3% cash back on dining and entertainment, the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card has a lower base rewards rate than many other cards. A 2% cash back reward at grocery stores and 1% cash back on all other purchases isn’t bad – especially with no annual fee – but if you don’t have many dining or entertainment expenses, you can do better with cards that offer unlimited cash back on all purchases.

High Credit Standards – You’ll need very good or excellent credit to qualify for the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card.

Conclusion

No annual fee and unlimited 3% cash back on dining and entertainment? That’s hard to beat – and the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card also includes 2% cash back at grocery stores, 1% on all other purchases and a sign-up bonus of $150 cash rewards after spending $500 in the first 3 months.

The Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card also provides an introductory 0% APR period on all purchases and balance transfers made within the first 15 months of opening the account. You can still receive rewards while avoiding interest charges – perfect for paying off your existing high-interest credit card debt.

Big spenders may prefer the companion Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card, where you can enjoy 4% cash back on dining and entertainment (and a few other perks) for the tradeoff of a $95 annual fee. Other cards may offer increased rewards, especially if your credit score is solidly in the excellent range. For most consumers, the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card is a better choice.

Unless you’re on either end of the dining and entertainment spectrum – you always go out or you never go out – the Capital One® SavorOne℠ Cash Rewards Credit Card is very likely to meet your credit card needs. With $0 annual fee, what do you have to lose?
